Owl

Our farm is on a quiet dirt road. The past couple of days I've noticed a dark pile on the east side of the road not far from our driveway. It looked like feathers and today I took the time to stop. It's a big barn owl, splayed on the side of the road. Occasionally when we're driving home at night an owl will swoop right across in front of the windshield. I guess this one didn't make it. The patterns on its wings are like murrini glass, white, brown, beige, black.
